Once a year, Israel observes Holocaust Remembrance Day, called Yom HaShoah, to commemorate the lives of those lost during the Holocaust. This year, the day was observed from sunset on May 1st to nightfall on May 2nd. At 10:00am, a siren sounds and 8.7 million people stop what they are doing to remember those that were lost. They stop whatever they are doing, wherever they are for two minutes of solemn reflection.
