Jim was 23 years old when he met his now-wife, Linda. Originally from the Worchester, Massachusetts area, Jim spent a few years serving in the U.S. Coast Guard before reuniting with a friend from high school, a talented baseball player about to become a student-athlete at Peru State College in Nebraska. That interaction would change the course of his life.
“His name was Jack,” Jim recalled, “And once he told me more about his plans, something just struck me, and I said, ‘I want to go to Nebraska, too.’”
