Did you know that the epic film Star Wars is “technically” a remake? It’s true. In fact, a lot of films that we assume to be original, are technically remakes, or even remakes of a remake (I’m calling those re-remakes). Of course, it’s clear that by this point in history, we might be running out of ideas, and it’s inevitable that we’d see similar themes pop up again and again, but remakes of a remake, is something new.
In fact, a lot of the old classics our parents and grandparents loved, are actually remakes of less-remembered older films, and now, sometimes directors, instead of finding something new, try to re-tread old ground and try to make something that worked then, relevant to the modern era. Sometimes, it works. Other times, it’s best to just stick to the originals.
