‘The Goonies’ to ‘Rudy’, Sean Astin chats about his ridiculous range – NY Comic Con

If history has shown us anything, it’s definitely difficult for child actors to break through in the industry after aging out (so to speak.) That, however was not the case for the uber-talented, Sean Astin.
Astin was born in 1971 and made his on-screen debut at the age of 10, acting beside his real mother, Patty Duke. As most of us know, Astin hit it big in 1985’s The Goonies where he portrayed the character of Mikey. His career has spanned over four decades, but the most impressive part is the range of roles he has taken on.
