It’s my favorite time of year in Austin, Texas. This Thursday, September 19th, marks the kick-off of the film festival Fantastic Fest 2024. For those who haven’t read my coverage of Fantastic Fest 2022 and Fantastic Fest 2023, allow me to explain.
Fantastic Fest has been running since 2005, and it’s the number one destination for genre films. That means they gather some of the best horror, action, fantasy, and science fiction movies from all around the world into one spot in Austin for seven days. They range from films being promoted by major studios to films that have never been premiered anywhere in the world.
That means that while I am listing out the films I’m looking forward to in this guide, there is a high chance I end up reviewing films not included here that’ll pop up as awesome little surprises. Plus, there are five secret screenings this year, so who knows what other surprises are waiting for me at Fantastic Fest this year.
Keep in mind though, since many of these films are making their debut, no trailers may be available at this time. Links to trailers will be provided if available, but that will not be the case for some of these films.
