I mean, come on. Is there anyone more adorable than Audrey Hepburn?
British actress and fashion icon, Audrey Hepburn, trained as a ballerina in Amsterdam, then London, where she began to pursue a career in acting.
Known for her classy, timeless style (a fashion sense still emulated today) Hepburn was discovered after a screen test in 1951. Hepburn’s on-screen magic landed her a breakout role (originally intended for Elizabeth Taylor) playing a princess in Roman Holiday (1953), opposite Gregory Peck.
Hepburn’s performance earned her an Academy Award and BAFTRA for best actress.
She went on to star in numerous box-office hits such as Sabrina (opposite William Holden and Humphrey Boggart), Charade (opposite Carey Grant), Roman Holiday (opposite Gregory Peck, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s (adapted from Truman Capote’s novella of the same name).
In 1967, Hepburn slowed down to focus on her family and humanitarian work, eventually receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom for her work with UNICEF.
Audrey Hepburn’s minimalistic style was called the “public embodiment of our new feminine ideal” in Vogue. Simple, monochromatic silhouettes paired with statement pieces created Hepburn’s visual brand that still inspires the fashion world.
