November, 2017. Over the last few years the internet was evolving to become less of a novelty, more of a utility. People were starting to bank and pay their electricity bills online. And, and the internet was getting shittier and shittier. When we first started theCHIVE we wanted to bring our online audience offline by throwing Chive meetups. Every month, we’d pick a new city, put all the Chive editors on a plane so we could personally meet, shake hands, and raise a glass with as many Chivers as possible. We figured, with all those raised glasses, it might as well be our own beer on tap.
