Six years ago today, I went to interview with John and Leo – Monday, January 17th, 2011.
The Saturday before, I was in Oregon and got a voicemail from John saying, “You’re in our top 3, so unless a smoking hot blonde that knows HTML shows up, we need you here Monday.” I wasn’t supposed to fly back for a week. So the next day, I rented a car and drove 1,100 miles back to LA.
According to urban legend (John) I put my best graphic tee on (it wasn’t a graphic tee), and headed to Venice. The one thing I will always take away from that interview was seeing five of the most inspired and dedicated people I have ever come across packed into a single room with laptops, working on an idea that would change everything.
The following Friday, I got the call from Leo that I got the job. I truly knew that it was going to be something incredible, but I had no idea just how big it would be.
The last six years have been the most unbelievable experience of my life. From watching the company grow from nothing to what it is now, working with the most incredible people and my best friends, and most importantly, being part of a community of the most caring and loving individuals that make up what we are today, the Chivers.
It has been, and will continue to be an incredible journey.
