Early leprechaun’s looked nothing like they do today. While most of us identify them as having red beards, green clothing and a short derby hat, Irish folklore describes them much differently. Ireland’s ancestors described leprechauns as short beings dressed in red who wore a “cocked hat” or a tri-cornered hat.
