‘Behind the Coins’: Ranger Coin Company – Boomerang 11/Smiling Tiger 32

We have a very special and unique challenge coin that we’re highlighting here today. This custom piece was sent to us by Retired Captain Don Williams who was stationed in Vietnam for two separate tours. This is his story.
“I designed the coin shown above to commemorate my two tours in Vietnam. Ranger Coin Company did an excellent job of manufacturing the coin. One side represents my first one-year tour in Vietnam during 1967-68. I was a Chief Warrant Officer 2 flying a UH-1D Huey with the 191st Assault Helicopter Company.”
“The Company was stationed at Bearcat, Republic of Vietnam. My personal radio callsign was Boomerang 11.”
