Personally, as a child of the ’80s, I always felt my generation grew up in a sweet spot of sorts. We had arcades, home entertainment systems, the early days of the internet, Blockbuster movie nights, big hair, unbridled patriotism, and on and on the list goes.
Having noted how radical a time it really was (look up the word, Young Kids), that’s not to say there weren’t some legit drawbacks.
