A large portion of Americans believe in astrology, which is the belief that the position of the stars and planets influences our daily lives and personality traits. (Not to confuse astrology for astronomy, a field of study that uses mathematics and physics to study celestial bodies.)
According to a 2012 survey, about 34% of Americans believe that astrology is “very” or “somewhat” scientific. The same survey found that only half of Americans believe astrology is “not at all” scientific. Further, the American Federation of Astrologers claims a whopping 70 million Americans view their Horoscopes daily. So there are a lot of people turning to astrology for answers.
But is there any truth to it?
The short answer, according to Astrophysicist Sabrina Stierwalt as well as the rest of the scientific community, “No. None whatsoever.”
