One thing that I always enjoyed during my time in the Navy were the “friends and family” days. It gave Sailors the opportunity to bring the ones they love to work to show them just what made an aircraft carrier run. We would set up different booths in the hangar bay that allowed the kids to have a hands-on interaction with the gear that we used every day. It was pretty entertaining and wholesome. Unfortunately, not all jobs are the same and should DEFINITELY not have their own “Bring Your Child to Work Day.”
