Currently there is a hurricane hovering in the Atlantic, moving up the eastern shore of Florida. Hurricane Matthew had already wreaked havoc in the Caribbean, and poses to do the same on the Sunshine State. As it makes its way deeper into the mainland, Florida residents have boarded their windows, stocked up on food and water, prepared to weather the storm.
Amidst the chaos, Chive Chapters across Florida are staying in contact with each other to ensure that everyone is okay. It’s amazing to see Chivers post across all social media, offering assistance, shelter, and humorous entertainment to keep their minds off of the storm.
But this kind of support system isn’t anything new. Humor and humanity are core pillars of what makes this community tick and we never cease to be amazed at what Chivers are capable of. As the Chive community grows, the stories about Chivers banding together for their local cities multiply and it’s amazing to watch. With a drive to party with a purpose, chapters have done some phenomenal work; and some have absolutely crushed it – they’re classified as the “Bona Fide.” Putting their mark on the southeast and becoming the anchor of the Florida chapters, Central Florida Chive is the latest addition to the Bona Fide Chapters of Chive Nation.
