Here at theCHIVE, one of our biggest goals has been to bring our online community offline. We love watching Chivers grab a beer, meet new people, and maybe find a little love. When we began throwing official meetups a few years ago, we started to see regional groups (or Chive Chapters) follow our lead, gathering on social media to hold unofficial parties and often raise money for charity.
And then these regional groups BLEW UP. Within six months, we saw the number of chapters double, doing incredible local charity work and throwing insane parties. With how fucking awesome they’ve become, we’d like to recognize the top chapters for all of the work they’ve put in and what they’ve done in the name of theCHIVE.
We’re thrilled to announce Bona Fide Chive Chapters. Why Bona Fide? Bona Fide is latin for genuine and real – it’s for chapters doing big things in their community and representing what theCHIVE is and what it’s going to become.
There really isn’t a guideline or criteria for making a chapter Bona Fide, it’s more of a tip of the cap for being certifiably awesome. We’ll be announcing the first Bona Fide Chive Chapter tomorrow, with more to follow.
