The Floating Aircruise Hotel (13 photos)

Powered by hydrogen, the Aircruise is a radical new design that promises to accommodate guests in a 265-meter tall hotel that could float above city skylines or over dramatic landscapes and transport about 100 people from London to New York in 37 hours. Read more here.

Chris…nice to meet you. Now: No one gives a damn who the hell is FIRST at a damn thing around here! Okay? ๐Ÿ˜›

This hotel thing…feasible/real or not, it’d be awesome to see the sunrise/sunset and the stars from that vantage point. It’d be damn ugly to look at from the ground though.

      • Columbo

        Time of the month LOL?

        • LOL

No I’m not OTR. That “first” crap is just stupid. Really…who the fuck cares if you’re the first person to see something? In real life, when you go to the coffee store, do you announce it if you’re the first customer? Hell no. People’d beat you with a stick. Just because this is the interwebs doesn’t make a difference. Stupid deserves to get smacked. I was actually pretty nice. I could have said “Chris, you’re a fucking idiot for thinking anyone gives a rats ass about your pathetic need to be first in anything and I hope you die a bed-ridden urine soaked death on a flea infested flop house mattress.” But I didn’t. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m proud of your restraint. You should be too.

            • Columbo

I was only teasing. I agree wholeheartedly.

By the way, I’m guessing Chris Moyles is not his real name. That is the name of an obese, greasy, ignorant and humourless DJ we have polluting the airwaves over here in the UK.

If it is the real Chris Moyles then Hi!!! I’m a big fan!!

    • CunningLinguist

i cant wait to see the news headlines this thing makes it some mad man decides to strap a bomb to the engines of this thing and holds all the passengers hostage……

good intentions are always thwarted by bad people.

  • vitorla

This is just an utter waste of money, cool as it may be. Also, if anyone actually engineers and builds that suspension bridge, it would be the biggest waste of time/money ever.

    • vitorla

If you’re going to waste this much money, then you might as well put a glass pool on the very bottom so that it looks like you’re swimming in the sky.

  • Nateb123

Yeah…I stopped reading at “powered by hydrogen” because if you’re ready to invoke such a far off technology, it’s pretty clear you’re not really serious about creating what you’ve put on paper. It’s like when art students (or in this case, idiotic firms) draw this awesome car but then say “It doesn’t use wheels, it just levitates. Ever seen those floating tops? Those work the same way so it’s clearly possible on a world transportation scale.” So many cool ideas get absolutely annihilated when such juvenile effort is put into them.

they just mean to float it like a Hindenberg

      • Anonymous

        It’s called Hindenburg.

        • TMI

Who cares how it’s spelled? The point is still valid that it is a big balloon not some kind of fusion powered, anti-gravity space hotel.

    • Khyber Pathway

Makes me laugh the way you say you immediately stopped reading after ‘powered by hydrogen’.

“What’s this? Powered by hydrogen? Preposterous! Next they will be telling me they plan on putting a man on the moon! I refuse to take in any further information on this subject”

Have you been in a coma or something?

      • Nateb123

Actually if you douche-canoes had read the article you’d see that hydrogen would serve as both the lighter-than-air gas needed to make the hotel float and as fuel. Aside from the fact that this wouldn’t provide nearly enough power to the ship before all the hydrogen was used up, it would much more quickly send the ship down on top of that big bridge. Plus do you know what a single hydrogen fuel cell stack for a car costs? It takes buttloads of platinum and no other comparable catalyst exists. We actually have hydrogen fuel cell buses where I live and because they cost so much, do you know how many we have? 2! They cost millions of dollars each. If they outlawed white gold around the world and directed all the platinum to be used for fuel cells for this thing (let’s not forget, for the purpose of sending it plummeting to the Earth in a matter of hours because hydrogen holds dick all energy), you still wouldn’t have enough. So suck it.

  • kp

    can anyone say “Hindenberg”???

          Hindenborf… DAMMIT!

    • HellHathNoFury

      infamous disaster of epic proportions.

  • Sweet Jimmy

Hey, what kind of ride we get?

How does an enormous flying cocoon sound to you?

Wow, a flying cocoon. I can already feel my life getting better!

  • Rockstar

so how do you suggest evacuate when theres a fuck up storm that is engulfing that ship

    • RocknRollDr.

I’d assume they would do the same thing airlines do, try to fly above the storm if possible.

    • LOL

      It says: “transport about 100 people from London to New York in 37 hours”. So I’m guessing they’d just fly away? {shrug}

  • Linefire

    Pretty sweet

  • Anonymous

    Too weird.

  • confused

    that looks likes nice

  • Elsupimpa

Oh screw them why they dont make my Death star Hotel replica already?!

    • Fuzzybeard2016

Nobody wants to be the one to file the environmental impact statement, that’s why!

  • Fuzzybeard2016

    #11: Warp core ejected, Captain!

  • Sticks

You know the Hindenburg was also powered by hydrogen and looked what happened. Unless the hydrogen is put in explosion proof tanks I won’t stay in this hotel.

  • markkens

YEAH that hydrogen thing didn’t work out so well

  • Chris Moyles

      • LOL

*double face palm to wipe my eyes* That was bad. ๐Ÿ˜› Shame on you both. ๐Ÿ˜€

This is an example of you two being more entertaining than the thing you are commenting about.

  • redhatsociety

that looks like the floating island from Gulliver’s Travels

  • Nice

Can you say ‘BOOM’ ?! Can there be any easier target for someone to blow up?
