    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUCKING WAYY!!! mind=blown

    • lttido

      I second to this

  • Shaggy

really, this took 25 years to see?

    • Brpod

Did you guys not hear the old dude with the gun shout at Marty for running over one of his Pines!!!!
      zzzzzz

  • Junkyard Monkey

Yeah my mind was blown….by how you NEVER noticed this before!! Are you kidding? Either you don’t pay attention or you’ve only watched this movie once. Either way you should hold a poll to see how many people didn’t notice this before. My guess…just you.

    • KJ

Yup, I didn’t notice it. Must mean I’m a total loser for not paying extra special attention to the name of the mall in a movie. What a tool…I just sit around and enjoy movies rather than wondering about what is on the signs.

Can’t you just say you noticed it, rather than try and insult everyone who didn’t notice it?

      • Roscoe

I’m with KJ on this one…

        • Libertariandude

KJ, you just summarize what so many of us are thinking. Who pays attention to signs, anyway?

      • bobby

here’s another shocker: the guy in the 50’s diner is the FUTURE MAYOR!

  • aosux

    Lame

  • Avery

That’s one of the first things you notice….

  • Equalizer

    mhe…

  • Tony

I can’t believe this has been put up as original. You’d have to be Stevie Wonder not to notice it and even then one of his aides would likely be explaining it to him “oh Marty just run over a pine tree at Old Man Peabody’s farm……. Oh the name of the mall’s changed.” The film is full of things like this.
There’s even Lone Pine Mall shirts. Wow.

  • Joeyk

I love all things back to the future so for that i thank you, but yes i noticed that a long time ago. Funny how JCPenny hasnt changed the look of their sign in over 25 years..

  • youdummy

Maybe just delete this post and we’ll all pretend it didn’t happen.

  • Blip

Jeeeez, someone is unobservant. Only took you 25 years.

    • Your cousin, Marvin Berry

      Don’t you mean Jeez Louise?

      • albatross

        hahahahah fuckin best name EVER

  • -_-

Pretty sure they do something similar with the ranch in BTTF 3

    • Jon without the h

Yeah. In BTTF III, “Clayton Ravine” was renamed “Eastwood Ravine” at the end of the movie because of Marty beating Buford “Mad Dog” Tannen in a fight while using his faux-name, Clint Eastwood, in 1885.
Yeah, I’m a huge dork for knowing this…but I accept it.

      • JohnnyQuest

Came here to say this. But I think the main reason they changed the name of the ravine was because “Clint Eastwood” presumably died aboard the locomotive that plunged into it (into the future, as we know). I’m not arguing, though – they wouldn’t have cared about Marty if he hadn’t stood up to Mad Dog Tannen in the first place!

      • bobbiraptor

actually i'm intensely aroused by you right now
i was definitely expecting something a bit more mind-blowing than this 😦 the guy even shouts something like "my pine look what yehve done to me pine!"
back to the future is one of the most self-referential series ever, it's right up there with arrested development and I LOVE it for it

  • j

I saw this post tomorrow, I couldn’t believe you were gonna post it then, and today I still can’t believe it actually happened…I’m going to be totaly disappointed yesterday.

  • Your cousin, Marvin Berry

Wow you have highly underestimated my geekiness if you thought I never noticed this before.

  • Zach

    Mind blown :O

  • 123roasthim

My mind was blown…when I saw it when I was 4

  • MacheteJack

Hey, I’m with you, I didn’t notice it until I re-watched it recently.

    • radiodial

Have the Trilogy, watched them every couple of years with the Mrs. (also an 80’s kid) – never picked up on it. Guess I have to turn in my Geek license….

  • Nelson (DJ NEWYORICAN)

Well for those of you who did not know, the actual name of the mall is Puente Hills Mall located in City of Industry, California. The High School where marty went to is called Whittier High School, in Whittier, California, the locker that his “future” mom uses in the movie was above my locker. GO CARDINALS!!! LOL.

  • dooby

What’s really worrying is that the exterior mall architecture hasn’t changed since the 1980s.

  • SreyaNotfilc

    Heavy…

  • DrRockso

what about the guy jerking off in the bleachers…awww wrong movie

  • SaintxXxAsh

    Hmmm. I’ve never seen BTTF.

    • Vonshine

      Now THAT blows my mind.

    • Juan

oooh, a small -1 to attractiveness

      • SaintxXxAsh

sad face =[ i guess i’ll queue it in netflix.

  • Bob

Wow, that blew me away just now

  • Michael H.

So the name changed, minor detail of things he did by going back in time changing minor things in the future. Am I right?! 🙂
