Dream bachelor pads (36 photos)

#16 if this doesn't help you accomplish your mission you should give up life

    • taylor

to bad its falling apart like alot of his buildings. wright was quite the visionary, just not a long term one.

      • Hunter X

I was thinking the same thing- great architectural icon, but it's condition is a POS. It will likely need rebuilding in 20 years.

        • total derp

I'm happy that some of these horny Chivers actually know who Wright is!

      • Fallingwater

It was built in the 1930's. It's done pretty well

      • JerseyGuy

Fallingwater (this building) was designed to fall apart. Wright intended the house to be an organic expression. And, like organics, it would eventually decay and "die."

Rightly or wrongly, enthusiasts have kept the building standing long after its intended death date.

      • That's Questionable

Yeah, and it's unlivable because of the noise I heard hahaha!

    • Sam

Wow. Given everything that I've heard lately I'm surprised there are still others that look at things like that and say, "Hey, that's something to strive for." instead of "That's not fair! The government should take that from him and let the 99% use it!"

      • pwithc

Slightly valid point, totally irrelevant time to post it and the wrong place.

      • Habsy

Yah. Fcuk the 1%, for the soul reason that I am not in it.

      • Counterpoint

I know this isn't the venue, but I don't think you quite get the Occupy movement. Some are douches that just want to be given stuff. Most, though, are tired of the crony capitalism that lets the rich keep getting richer because they have more access to politicians and information. Some of the richest people/companies made out like bandits in the last financial meltdown, and a big reason is that these companies and individuals were able to get politicians to relax or eliminate regulations that were put in place to stop that sort of thing. Then, they got rewarded with fat bonuses and high tailed it, leaving the taxpayer with big amounts of the bill. Then, they come around saying that the middle and lower classes need to have services cut, etc, to balance it all out. It's not about taking what they have because of jealousy, it's about protecting what you have from the vultures above you.

    • tdr

It has already been re-engineered/rebuilt, steel added to keep it from sagging, etc. It'll be there for a lot more than another 20 years.

  • BabyFart Magizax

#3 looks like a fun place to party

    • http://4chan.org gnocco

Was this an apartment in 'Archer' (cartoon style)?

  • untamedride

#28 could be my fortress of solitude

  • Finn

#7 Nothing beats living in the city with a lot of space.

  • Unfkngblvbl

Not all bachelor pads, except #30…well, maybe my wife would be into it….in my dreams.

    • peter

Pole Dancing in the shower – sweet!

      • Guest

        I foresee a trip to the E.R.

        • Jay

boner lasting longer than four hours?

    • Swamp1983

I could so see this going wrong

    • monk

Totally belong in a bachelor pad. Run her through there after sex, no way that baby survives.

    • http://www.facebook.com/josedanielcampa José Campa

WTF, seriously? Just put it in the living room or the bedroom! Dont be a stupid asshole!

  • rileysrandomreview

#16 I'm fairly certain is the Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece Falling Water.

    • http://www.myspace.com/theamericanmaniacs BentWrenches

I believe you are correct sir, yes.

    • Tivo

Yes it is indeed. I live only an hour from there in Pittsburgh and have been there numerous times. Not a bachelor pad by any means.

    • Poppajo

I thought I recognized the same. What an artist he was!

    • DhamaBum

Definitely Wright's falling water, glad i learnt something studying Architecture!

    • FLWfortheloss

congratulations on recognizing the most overrated building by the most overrated architect in history.

    • http://twitter.com/Onoku @Onoku

Yup, I have been there as well. It is pretty cool.

  • Choogar

    Fucking rich people.

    • JohnD

      @Choogar Fucken Rich People,

    • JOHN

What's stopping you? Are you really that helpless to earn a solid living? Less whining more self improvement is a start.

      • Choogar

What's stopping me from buying a multi-million dollar mansion? Mainly a lack of millions of dollars. I work hard and earn a pretty darn solid living, thanks.

How's your huge castle treating you?

        • JOHN

I don't have one. I also don't chastise other people for having more money than I do… Guess what, the world is unfair. I try to use the advantages I have to improve myself. I do this mostly because I don't have control over the actions of others, and I do not seek to because that would be morally depraved.

          • PA2AK

I don't have millions either…but I have a fucking awesome family and pretty fucking sweet friends. There is more value in that, imo. I like rich people…for the most part, the see opportunity and do something with it…usually spinning of derivatives of opportunity for others at the same time. I would never trade what I have for a nice house and/or car though. Of course, if anyone wants to send me some millions…I guess I'd be cool with that too. Chive on Chooger…if you work as hard as you bitch about rich people…i'm sure things will work out for you in the end.

    • MylesofStyles

Yeah. Fuck those rich people. The nerve of them being intelligent, ambitious and hard working. Bastards.

      • GI Joe

        Erm, Mitt Romney?

  • Yessirr

#3 that couch looks like it could start some trouble…

  • Martin_McFly

Clearly they don't know what they're talking about. Nothing like destroying a good #35 with a night of drinking, then a quick trip to the hardware store to patch up the holes. All the others are too fancy for binge drinking.

    • Blumpkin King

Agreed, ^^ looks exactly like my place an 5000 others

    • WTF

where would u put the dishes post or pre clean?? straight to cubboard? OMG without draining, this and the fact that they named this kitchen reality makes me believe that its a mock kitchen in a kitchen sales area/shop

      • CoGu

wtf are you talking about? look above the dish washing machine, the space just to the left of the sink. that is it. thats the space for the dishes to dry. yes its small. so is the whole apartment. have you never lived in a tiny shitty apartment?

        • black27696

I have, that is the space where you would dry dishes (wash them with a running tap to rinse).

This is actually nicer than my apartment in college.

          • ysoserious

            Cool story bro

            • Martin_McFly

*facepalm … my post was resorted to a descussion on dishes?? DAMNIT!

  • http://echogeo.wordpress.com/ echogeo

Has to be a pain in the ass getting @ the place.

    • That Dude

This is the Vitra showroom/museum in Germany, been there a couple of times. It's just like Ikea but a thousand times more expensive.

  • Underbaker

#1 Looks like something from Men in Black that you could fly off in to space at any second.

    • iGaucho

Yes, I would only want that one if it can escape the atmosphere!

Ohhh Shiiiiiiiiiuuuuttt LOL I did not even noticed that when I scrolled down at first!

  • Batman Bin Suparman

Unfortunately, only about 3 of these (including the bottom pic) are actually owned by bachelors.

    • drew

The rest are entirely too clean.

    • Hunter X

Yea, you wouldn't be a bachelor very long if you owned one of them…

    • GI Joe

I think it's pathetic you know that, get out more.

  • Rev

    #35 you dicks

  • Mr. Tea

#35 shit… I WISHED my kitchen looked like that. Maybe if I spend a year remodeling it handyman-style.

    • lackofabetter

I was thinking the same thing.
