Coffee and cigarettes…it's what made America great.

      • Hucks

        He was English, wasn't he?

      • http://twitter.com/NickArts323 @NickArts323

It's probably tea since Boris Karloff WAS English

      • Groggy

To be fair, he never said he was American. Maybe he was just making a non-sequitur comment about coffee, cigarettes, and America. 😛

  • Wellsbvt

    Awesome!

  • Hrdwood

    Frankensteeeeeen! Not stein!

    • RobboJohn

I'm a huge fan of these old horror classics. To see these shots is awsome.

    • tv_paul

Me too, probably my two favorites of the old Universals are Bride of Frankenstein & The Creature From The Black Lagoon.

  • Devlin

    Everybody loves Frankenstein!

    • Devlin

#26 Really looks like the dad he played on Everybody Loves Raymond

      • N8IV

Totally not Peter Boyle, boss… This movie was made 4 years before he was even born. You're thinking of "Young Frankenstein."

        • Devlin

          Curses! Foiled again!

#22 This one looks a lot like my wedding photo… me on the left, the bride and the best man… good times.

Actually, there's a story in Karloff's IMDb bio which tells of the cast and crew going on location to shoot the scene where the monster and the little girl throw flowers into the lake. When the little girl saw Karloff in his full monster make-up, she ran up to him and asked if she could ride to the location with him. Karloff was a sweet and gentle man (as well as a gentleman), and kids could sense it immediately. Probably that kid had a lifetime of happy memories of meeting a nice man in funny makeup.

#16 Is Frankenstein's Monster. The title of the novel and movie[s] are named after Victor Frankenstein, the scientist. The monster is never given a name other than monster or variant of monster.

    • Masturbating Monkey

Well aren't you all smart and shit? No matter what he is Frankenstein to me, and 99% of the rest of the world.

      • forever harmed

yeah, in the book his name was 'Legion', 'cause he was made up of all these spare parts like. And he liked cheap beer.

        • A BiPolar Guy

I like cheep beer. And cheep women.

#15 Boris Karloff, the Man, the Myth, the freakin' Legend. Hats off to the f/x guys from the old days. There's nothing like a bit of monster make-up and fake blood, beats the bag out of some of the flimsy CGI these days.

    • Shockteck

I still love his narration of the Grinch that stole Christmas.

      • Master_Rahl

Wholeheartedly agree, one of the all-time greats.

  • Tara

FUCK YOU KARLOFF! sorry had an Ed Wood moment 🙂

"It's all make up and grunting urghhhh". Awesome scene.

  • GI Joe

Several of these were from "The Bride of Frankenstein" 1935, #19 and the ones with Basil Rathbone and Boris in the wooly shirt were from "The Son of Frankenstein" 1939. The original 1931 and the "Bride" are going to be shown on the big screen all digitally remastered on Oct. 24th in select theaters around the US.

    • sugar

Thank you so much for the info. I am going to be checking my theater. It would be awesome to take my kids to see these movies.

  • Ringo Kostello

Not all are from the original Frankenstein (1931)… includes a few from Bride of Frankenstein (1935) and Son of Frankenstein (1939).
