#30 Douchebag. Prohibition doesn't keep drugs off the street and it increases violence. Quit feeling so proud of yourself. You aren't helping.

#6 You ever notice that one single shred of evidence has surfaced about Mr. Rogers that he was into coke or molested children or lied about using performance enhancing drugs. Just one hell of a nice man.

    • LudditeGrammarPoPo

#24 The chive know America well, that this will be fine, but a nipple is right out. God bless us, some of the best but also some of the craziest people on Earth. I'm not a big fan of tattoos by the way but I'd make an exception for the red headed star wars fan

I go to the Chive everyday, but I do not understand this culture that has developed of giving away stuff to others. I guess I am just not charitable by nature. From my grumpy old man point of view, it seems pretentious, especially if you brag about it to everyone by sending a picture to the Chive.

    • http://www.facebook.com/samantha.d.schmidt Samanthajane

I am not bragging about anything, I am simply excited that I was able to find another chiver and give him something….. I was thinking my good deed would put a seed in others minds to do something nice for others… Because I do at least one kind deed a day, so maybe you need a little more compassion in your life. Try paying for someones coffee in line, or opening a door if you dont want to "give" something away. Or simply giving someone a compliment… I just like making others smile and I try to make their day a little brighter. You should try it. -Samanthajane

Fair enough. I am from the South, so I hold open doors for others every day and say yes ma'am and yes sir, please and thank you. I walk between the street and a female I am accompanying when on the sidewalk. I am friendly with the cashier when checking out. All of these things are just common courtesy that you are taught from day one in the South. But I have no desire to go out of my way to pay for others when I already pay significantly for others at gunpoint thanks to taxes and our redistribution of wealth system. I give plenty. I should send my tax return into the chive as proof of a random act of kindness

Well then you aren't a grumpy old man after all. I actually bought an extra chive shirt for my brother, but then he ended up buying his own, then I was going to give it to my guy friend, but he also bought some the same day, so instead of being a tool and putting it on ebay and getting an overpriced pay out, I just kept it in my car. I moved from Wisconsin to Washington and forgot all about it, and then when I got a "Chive on" and I asked if he had any shirts and how often he goes on, so I felt like finally getting rid of the shirt thats been in my car for a while. To me, money is money. You make it, you spend it, the world goes around. It didnt effect me that I "lost" money or anything because It was going to be a gift in the first place anyway… As long as you're doing nice things, regardless if you spend money or not, I think its awesome. I always say Yes ma'am and Yes sir, please and thank you. I came from a military family :)

          • Jonathan

I can respect that. Giving a shirt is also different from the constant exchange of money I see or the ridiculous, unearned tips. I too came from a military family with my dad and all 5 of my brothers and step-brothers having spent time in the military (including my oldest, a lifer in the Air Force). I certainly did not intend to make you feel you had to defend yourself. Chive on!
