Recently moving from Venice Beach to Austin, there are a few things I really miss. The ocean, and surfing are amongst a few of them. I’ve since traded my surf board in for a paddle board, but all hope is not lost. The Wavegarden is a man-made surfing cathedral located in the Western Pyrenees on the boarder of Spain and France. The park uses patented technology that generates 120 perfectly formed waves every hour. Imagine perfect barrels breaking right, and left, simultaneously, lasting about 20 seconds a ride without losing power or shape. Tested by the likes of professional surfers Kelly Slater, Rob Machado, and Bobby Martinez, the creators of the Wavegarden are looking to expand their park and open up new locations across the globe. Hopefully they make their way to Texas soon.
