Christopher Guest, who plays David St.Hubbins, is the only member of band’s core who is actually English. Sort of.
Despite being born in the US, his father was a British diplomat and the 4th Baron Haden-Guest, a title that Christopher inherited upon his death. This entitled Guest to attend the House of Lords,the upper house of the British legislature, which he did regularly until the House of Lords Act 1999 which banned most hereditary peers from their seats.
So, yes, a member of Spinal Tap had a say in British law for a period of time. When I think about the 90’s, that makes sense…
