Jarrius “J.J.” Robertson has become a celebrity in his hometown of New Orleans. The 14-year-old has seen his fair share of surgeries and tough times. He is battling a chronic liver disease called biliary atresia and has his own foundation called “It takes lives to save lives” which encourages people to be organ donors.
He got a liver transplant when he was 1-year-old that had complications and resulted in him being in a coma for almost a year. Just recovering from that coma was almost a miracle, as the doctors took away his respirator and he started to breathe on his own.
