NBC thinks streaming won’t take over broadcast tv
Boy is he wrong. Last year, Alan Wurtzel, the president of research and media development for NBCU, revealed ratings estimates for Netflix (Netflix doesn’t actually reveal these numbers, nor do they track them) to prove a point. He claimed that the notion of companies like Netflix replacing broadcast TV might not be true, and that it’s like comparing apples and oranges.
Except people are cutting their cords, and the quality of programming on streaming networks like Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu are far better than what NBC’s got going on. But yeah, sure, whatever you say.
Let’s see how this plays out. Remember, this is the network that had the amazing show Hannibal and fucked it up.
