“Today I took the Travelmate Bear on a flight with me in the SR-71 Research Airplane. We flew very high, 79,000 feet and very fast, about 2000 miles per hour. We travelled 1,800 miles in one hour and twenty minutes. Can you see how far 1500 miles is in a straight line from your school? We flew from Edwards AFB over the states of Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, and California. We landed back at Edwards AFB in California where the Space Shuttle lands. Can you find Edwards on your map? The sky was very clear and at our altitude we could see very far. It was a beautiful flight.
