Robert the Doll
Key West, Florida
Young child Robert Eugene Otto (Gene for short) was gifted this doll in the early 1900’s, and he loved it, naming him Robert after himself. Except this wasn’t a normal, straw-filled doll.
After a short time, the family would hear Gene having conversations in two different voices, find him crying in a room that had all it’s furniture overturned, and all the toys would mysteriously get mutilated. Gene blamed Robert, and at times, the family swore they’d hear the doll chuckle.
According to local legend, Robert was sent to the attic, and as Gene grew up, he became reclusive and insane. Now the doll lives in a museum and curses anyone who takes a photo without asking.
