The Tunguska Event
June 30th, 1908 – A massive explosion 1,000 times more powerful than the nuclear bomb dropped on Hiroshima occurred in Eastern Siberia. The explosion flattened nearly 2,000 square miles of forest, and resulted in multiple expeditions to investigate the cause. The biggest puzzle of the event, was that there was no crater found. Since the initial investigations, it has been attributed to an air burst of a meteoroid that disintegrated about 30,000 feet above the earth.
