So it’s getting late here and I’m going through theCHIVE submission box. Whenever we launch The Originals, there’s always an uptick of emails from Chivers who wanted to RAK their friends in the Armed Forces an Original but didn't get to their computers in time or simply can't afford it. Many of those soldiers and sailors are in a whole other time zone themselves with no fixed address.
So let's do something about this. I’m going to RAK a healthy number of KCCO’s and BFM’s to our service men and women - like, a really healthy number (my accountant called me “a financially irresponsible boy scout. I like it.”. It was a real moment.
If you know an active service member or veteran, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org on his/her behalf and we’ll email you a backlink to the free ‘Originals’. Feel free to include their story. We are assuming all costs except for shipping. You must receive an email back confirming the order. If you don’t know the RAK recipient's address, send the package to yourself and please be sure you get it to them. This is the internet honor system. It's flawless!
We’ve done this before with the Military KCCO’s but this is a whole other enchilada, I have no idea what’s about to happen so please understand we do have a sorta' limited amount of shirts to give away and I'm half drunk at the moment. I'll update this page when the shirts are gone.
RAK away. I'm sure your friends will more than appreciate it. It's the small things after all...
John n' Leo
UPDATE: Thanks so much for all the heart warming emails. I gotta' close this awesome little science experiment down now. If you're one of the service men or women who gets a package, you've got some good friends out there looking after you.
Since Chive Fest started in Chicago, the one question I get above all other from Chivers, "IS JAKE OWEN PLAYING DALLAS??" Jake is one of our biggest supporters and one of the biggest country music artists in all the land. I've been listening to Beachin' since I woke up this morning.
Saturday November 1st, Halloween Weekend, tens of thousands of music enthusiasts will descend on the iconic Southfork Ranch for a full day festival of unnatural delights. Costumes welcome. The lineup is amazing:
Along with Jake Owen will be Julian Casablancas (lead singer for The Strokes) + The Voidz, John Butler Trio, and our friends, Manchester Orchestra.
Dallas Smith, Max and the Moon, Thieving Birds, and Emily Wolfe will also be rocking both stages.
Dallas is on its way to becoming one of the permanent homes of Chive Fest next year, Texas is our home after all. This is going to a be a big one...
Tickets for Chive Fest Dallas available RIGHT HERE!
More Chivettes from Calgary make Sexy Chivers every week than from any other city (I'm not kidding). So I'm basically wondering what you're putting in the water up there??
The new Calgary KCCO pays homage to the Calgary Tower and the Flames!
Calgary Keep Calm available RIGHT HERE!
We've received many emails asking if there will be a 'Raid the Vault' option deployed to allow Chivers early access to the elusive shirts and ultra-thin hoodies - the hoodies sold out quickly the last time they were available. Sadly, we just don't have enough stock this time to pull it off! So it's game on tomorrow at 3pm EST. Good luck!
Our Iowa Chive Chapter was one of the very first Chive Chapters and I hear they are throwing an abolute rager on the 16th of August. If you order the shirts by Tuesday, you should receive them by party time.
A healthy portion of the profits from the Iowa KCCO will be donated to their favorite charity, YESS Emergency Youth Shelter. A few months ago, Chive Charities donated $50,000 to help construct an entire new wing on the YESS shelter. Read that story here.
Let's do it:
