Adding a province is a complicated process, and has always been a cause for celebration. Last time we officially added a new territory to Canada, however, it wasn’t a big deal. In 1999 we added Nunavut, but it was really only dividing up land we already had, and it’s not really a vacation destination. And there’s the little feature of snow and lack of beaches and cheap drinks.
What would you think if we told you Canada’s looking into getting an island that would be a boon to Canada’s tourism industry; a sort of Canadian Hawaii? And it’s gorgeous year round?
