No matter how many times some talking head tries to explain it, I’ll never understand Breed Specific Legislation and the banning of Pit Bulls in various provinces. I mean, in my lifetime, I’ve been attacked by scores of Chihuahuas and a maltese, but never anything bigger than that, and I’ve never even met a Pit Bull wasn’t an absolute sweetheart. Recently, Montreal has added themselves to the list of places the are banning Pit Bulls and residents aren’t happy. This brings us to Malakai.
Malakai’s an Ontario Pit Bull and 10 years ago, when they enacted their ban, he was left behind, tied to a tree. Taken in by animal control, he was in line for euthanasia, until a hero entered his life; a hero named Julie. She adopted Malakai on the spot and they’ve been inseparable since then. This makes him one of the last legal Pit Bulls in Ontario.
