When we go to the movies, we expect an element of fantasy, right? I mean, none of the things that you’re seeing on the screen are 100% accurate and realistic (romcoms included), and that’s the beauty of it. We watch movies to escape, to dream, to imagine and alternate version of reality where these things are possible. You know it, I know it, but for some reason, scientists don’t. When it comes to a sci-fi movie that has some dubious scientific theories, they’re all to happy to rip it apart. Which, I guess, if that was my career on screen that was inaccurate, I’m sure I’d complain too. So far though, I do see myself in every ridiculously handsome freelance blogger character, working at the coffeeshop, and I approve.
So, to keep them satisfied, sometimes filmmakers will go to great lengths to ensure their films are legit from a science perspective. These guys here, are. They’re more science fact than fiction, and that makes them all the better for it.
