Director Timm Burton has signed on to remake the 1941 classic “Dumbo,” with a release date still pending. Word in the industry is that they will not use real elephants, but a mix of CGI and live action sequences.
Not only will Cinderella be getting her own live-action remake, but Prince Charming is also said to be in the works to get his own movie as well.
The Genie from Aladdin will get his own live-action spin-off as a prequel to “Aladdin” titled “Genies,” with the premise of the movie about how the big blue genie ended up in the lamp.
No need to fret, Aladdin will also be getting his own remake, with Guy Ritchie set to direct.
Glenn Close already played the villainous Cruella de Vil in the 96′ live-action remake, but Emma Stone is set to give it a go in an original story titled “Cruella.”
Disney will also release a live-action adaptation of Winnie the Pooh, where they will feature an adult Christopher Robin visiting his old friends in the woods.
David Lowry, director of “Pete’s Dragon,” is on board to direct the live-action version of “Peter Pan.” Although I don’t think it will be nearly as good as “Hook.”
Reese Witherspoon will get her own live-action spin-off as Tinker Bell in “Tink.”
Disney’s second animated film “Pinocchio,” will get the live-action treatment. It will be loosely based on the original 1940 film.
“Jungle Book 2” is already in pre-production.
“Sleeping Beauty” had one of the most memorable villains hit the live-action screen already starring Angelina Jolie. A sequel to “Maleficent” is currently in production.
