Last week, theCHIVE and Chive Charities were responsible for the feel-good story of the week in America. Roz Abbott was diagnosed with Rasmussen Encephalitis, causing her to experience dozens of seizures a day. As a last resort to save her life, Roz had a hemispherectomy, the right half of her brain was removed.
We set the goal at $30,000, hoping to buy a safe, reliable vehicle to get Roz to her many appointments, and local Dayton company STRATACACHE pledged to match the $30k. We then pledged any additional funds raised would help the Abbott family with badly needed home improvements.
