There’s a saying in the film business that says “we’ll fix it in post,” and frankly, it’s the worst thing that’s happened to movies. Now with all the computing power and digital artistry available, no one’s bothering with practical effects and realism, and just using a digital paintbrush to fuck things up.
I mean, given the sheer amount of money and skill at play, you’d think that a) they’d try to make things as real as possible, and b) they wouldn’t let a turd like the above image leave the editing suite. I mean, I know it’s been years, but I still have nightmares about Superman’s freaky face. And in fact, that’s not the first time that CGI has been used to change up the most mundane or ridiculous things in a film for reasons.
