It’s a common trope in Hollywood—the sidekick. They’re often there to lighten the mood, add a little humor or even notable assistance to our real hero or protagonist. A funny thing happens every once-in-a-while though, they totally steal the spotlight and almost make us forget who is really running the show. This is by no means an exhaustive list, nor is it in any sort of order, but these are some of the secondary characters who, through writing or exceptional acting, refused to stay in their lanes.
