It only took a few seconds, but for Nat, it was long enough for her short life to pass before her innocent brown eyes. The 13-year-old had just boarded the school bus in her Houston subdivision and taken her favorite window seat – right side, row 6. With the right of way at a nearby 4-way stop, her bus started to accelerate through the intersection. Life had never been easy for Nat by any means.
