Every spring, Bill Murray, the Murray brothers, musicians, baseball and football pros, and theCHIVE descend upon the world of Golf Village, home to the Golf Hall of Fame, for the most hilarious charity golf tournament there is – The Murray Bros. Caddyshack Charity Golf Tournament. It’s the kind of tournament where you find yourself in a hotel room at 3am, drinking Macallan with your heroes wondering – How I did get here???
In the 16 years the tournament has been thriving, attendance has been capped. Not until last year, after theCHIVERS helped raise $130,000 for volunteer firefighters up and down the East Coast – were 4 new teams, constituting 16 new players, opened up to Chivers only.
When the Murray Bros. created this tournament, they intended it to be a place where all egos are checked at the door; a sanctuary where you make lifelong friends. Every year, when theCHIVE crew turns onto Legacy Trail, I smile because we’ve earned our place there.
This year, there will be two new slots opened for the tournament. That’s it, two. It will be opened up right now to Chivers who win the spots. All you have to do is enter your email under ‘wear it’ on William Murray Golf and you’ll be automatically entered. On Sunday at noon EST, we’ll pick a name at random. You and a friend of your choosing will be flown to St. Augustine next spring, all expenses paid, to join Bill Murray, the Murray Bros., myself, and all the Chivettes for an experience that can only be called the Cinderella Story eperience.
