As many of you know theCHIVE has deep roots in the Windy City – CHIcago and VEnice. Last week, Chive On Chicago threw a CHIVErish party for charity, raising nearly $20,000 for some great causes. Half the funds went to Chive Charities’ next recipient and the other half to the 100 Club of Chicago, which helps provide for the families of police officers, firefighters and paramedics who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
I’ve seen many photos from the event and it looked like y’all got after it. You can follow Chive On Chicago on Twitter and Facebook.
Every week, there are dozens of unofficial meetups across the country and there’s a charitable element to nearly every one, Chivers supporting local causes and people in need. How all this RAK’ing happened – and on this scale – I’ll never quite comprehend. It’s making the world a better place. Thank you.
Here at theCHIVE, Dave Welch, our community manager keeps me closely posted on all the events. Dave’s a good dude and I’d consider him a role model but I’ve seen him drink tequila during a full moon. You can follow Dave on the Chive Nation’s Twitter for all the info you need on meetups in your neck of the woods.
Good work, Chicago. We’re on our way to Gainesville right now. See y’all tonight. Drinks are on me.
KCCO and Go Cubs!
