Yesterday, we launched an official Chive Charities fundraiser for a little boy named Jaiden with Stiff Skin Syndrome. Jaiden was the 41st person ever diagnosed with a disorder that, for want of a better description, slowly turns you into stone.
Something you didn’t know was the Rogers family had organized a fundraiser for Jaiden in February when Jaiden was diagnosed. The fundraiser managed to raise only about $1,000.
Yesterday theCHIVERS raised $84,000 for Jaiden in 3 hours.
The Rogers’ family was speechless. I’m told Jaiden was beyond excited to see himself on theCHIVE. Tim and Natalie send their deepest thanks to Chive Nation.
The money will help build an indoor physical therapy spa as well as make the Rogers’ entire house wheelchair accessible. We’ve also received dozens of emails from contractors who wanted to help build all this at a greatly reduced cost. Thanks for stepping up and we’ll be in touch with y’all soon.
With Jaiden’s condition deteriorating, your generosity will help stem the tide of the syndrome quickly branching out under Jaiden’s skin. You’ve helped more than you’ll ever know, Chivers.
