Automated cars aren’t a pipe dream anymore, they’re all around us shuttling people to their destinations while they text away. For once, thank god for automation. Now Darlene can do her make-up in the rear-view mirror without veering wildly into my lane. What about flying cars though? A decade ago they were supposed to be on the horizon, but it never happened.
That is, until now. Airbus CEO Tom Enders announced at the DLD tech conference in Munich on Monday, that his company plans to put out a working prototype for the first flying taxi by the end of 2017. Not only that, but Darlene can soar the skies autonomously while she fixes her mascara. That’s right, autonomous flying taxis!
