The fine folks over at 24/7 Wall St. compiled a list of the 20 most booze-infused cities in the states, and the results are actually rather startling. The results are based on a number of sobering factors such as cities with the highest percentage of residents who admitted to regular binge drinking, the premature death rate, and the percentage of driving deaths involving alcohol. I know, sorry to be a Debbie Downer here, but that’s the news. But what is most surprising about the list of booziest cities is that nearly all of them reside in the Midwest. That’s right, 17 out of the top 20 cities belong to the heartland, with 11 out of those coming directly from the state of Wisconsin (hat tip to the cheese state?). The top 20 list is as follows: 20.
