We had the rare opportunity to sit down with the writer of films like ‘Road Trip,’ ‘Old School,’ and ‘The Hangover 2’ (with uncredited work on ‘Elf’ & ‘Bad Santa’) and the lessons Scot Armstrong had to impart were beyond insightful. For those aspiring writers out there this is the podcast for you. Scot tells his keys to success as a screenwriter, what it takes to make it in Hollywood, and what traps to avoid to prevent writer’s block. Along the way he shares stories from the set of some of the great comedies of our time, like working with brilliant improvisers Vince Vaughn and Will Ferrell on ‘Old School’.
Scot also wrote, directed, & created the new hilarious series ‘Dice,’ about the wildly irreverent Andrew Dice Clay who attempts to revamp his fledgling career, which is available to stream free for a 30-day trial at Showtime (airs on Showtime Sunday nights at 9:30 p.m.)
