While I don’t live in Europe, I’ve been several times and I’d say you run into as many fat people as you do in the U.S. But in most cases fat Americans are much much fatter than fat Europeans. The whole BMI thing is what makes it seem like all Americans are fatasses. I’m 6’1″ with a 32 waist, but am considered overweight.

Im afraid thats incorrect. There are more overweight and obese Americans than Europeans. Sure we here in the UK aren’t far behind you guys but we are way ahead of the rest of Europe ourselves. The reason why you think we’re fatter than we are and visa versa is because its usually an urban problem, and where are all the tourist attractions? Pretty much urban areas.
You know America actually isn’t the fattest per capita, that’s Australia. The main reason America is pointed out is because our population is HUGE compared to a lot of European countries, and so of course there will be more fat people here as well. (and more skinny people, at that) And besides, most Europeans I talk to, at least western Europeans, agree that there are just as many fatties around their countries as in America.
Which is incorrect. The US started a way of life many western countries followed. The US were ahead in a lot of things, including obesitas. Too bad this trend is a nasty one.

30% of American’s are classed as obese (BMI of 30+). Mexicos is 2nd. Australia is 3rd
