      • Netflix

        Only Seasons 1 & 2 unfortuantely.

        • Geoff

they only made 2 seasons im pretty sure.

          • @itsjaredlol

            Actually I THINK…they made 4.

            • Piyoko

They did. Season 3 is with Matrix and season 4 is actually 2 films, one with Daimon and one with the return of Megabyte.

              • Daniel

What was the show called I remember watching it but have no idea what the name is lol

                    It was disturbingly well-written.

    • kit

Entire series now on 9-disk DVD…

    • inFamous Bastard

Warning incoming game! that made my Saturday mornings

  • Scott

    Donatello myself.

    • LG_

That cartoon really was badass and Donatello was the turtle to pwn them all, I concur. The movie(s), on the other hand…creepy as hell. Something about animatronic crime-fighting gigantic turtles walking amongst us…

      • cheyeah

Nonsense. Go back and watch those movies (the first 2 at least) and see how awesome those Jim Henson costumes were. Today it'd be all CGI bullshit

      • Tom Wilhelm

Donatello was the genius of the bunch and a good fighter to boot. Not to mention he had a good sense of humor and those altogether made him the embodiment of awesome.

    • hMMMM

psh…you're probably the old, boring guy of the group. We all know Michaelangelo was the most appealing to the kids (as illustrated by the pic).

      • AGM

naa, too "bro" . Donatello FTW

        • Nardee

Pretty sure Donatello was a homo.

      • Mister H.

I agree with you… I believe that episode is the one in which he got hypnotized or something like that,, and after waking up he was craving for pizza.

      • HeyJewed

Well, you are probably the underachiever of the group who is always making poor life decisions. Donatello was the most intelligent of the group, and his choice of weapon spoke volumes of the kind of person (turtle) he was. Also, any kid can go on a camping trip or into their backyard and grab a stick to make a staff out of. I could go on and on and on about how awesome Donatello is, but ifi have to explain it, then you will probably never understand.

    • Will

The loss of Steve Irwin was a terrible blow to the community; and to his chest….

      • The Foley

Because I'm Australian I found that previous comment to be rather funny. I heard the first joke an hour after his death, I was at the pub:

        Q. Why should've Steve Irwin been wearing sunscreen?

        A. To keep out the rays.

This is how most Australians deal with tragedy, he's still missed but you're fucked if you can't have a laugh.

  • MonkeyMadness

    #2 I miss that show.

Are Fruit Stripes still around?? i forgot the taste but i remember it was good lol

    • Adam Harahuc

The taste was easy to forget because it only lasted 3.5 seconds. But it was pretty good.

      • Fasteddy14

That is my memory of that gum too…burst of flavor followed by chewing on a piece of rubber.

    • TomTheCameraGuy

They're still around. My wife picked up some the other day so we could take our own walk down memory lane… It tasted pretty awful haha. Just stick with your fond memories, and don't ruin them with reality.

  • rezner

#34 is bugging me,what was it?

    • JWK

      dragons lair

    • Sebastian Schwaighofer

      merlin wasnt it ?

      • dfgdfs

        no, it was dragons lair

    • MonkeyMadness

Yep, Dragon's Lair. I hated that game. I sucked at it.

      • Peter Parker

every1 sucked at it, it was fuckin impossible

    • Lee

Is also now available in the app store. For about as much as one 'play' cost of that infernal game!

      • Zoey

Yeah, I bought it and the helicopter game they redid too. Kid memory made me think I was going to do better at it, but I still suck at both of them!

    • commodoresixtyfour

fuck yeah! dragons lair rules but is really hard, one misstep and your dead. don bluth animation is awesome

      • mrselfdizstruct

Did anyone here play Dragons Lair on Laser Disc??? A buddy had it and we would play it. It was hard as hell.

    • Bobby

Dragons Lair – the most expensive coolest video game of its time

    • ely whitley

I grew up in Blackpool- tourist town in Uk and I played this every day. I used to complete it 'one touch' so you would hit the sword button or the stick just once for each move rather than hitting it until it beeped to show you had made the right move.It was based on all the little noises Dirk used to make or other little pointers. The princess in the bubble in the end scene was hot as fuck. know this is boring but I was the coolest kid in town while this was around. The followed it with 'Space Ace' which was shit.

    • GJS

      Sword in the Stone!!!

      • STC

Yeah, I thought that was it!

    • Hurkit

Man.. Dragon's Lair. I remember I first beat the game in April 25th..cant remember the year…early 80s, but I remember the date!

    • TimeJunkie

      Dragon's Lair. I think…

    • Umigame

      dragons lair

  • Laura Pike

#4 the reason I became a nurse, the stethoscope actually worked 🙂

    • GernBlansten

They still sell these, exactly the same. My kids have one.

    • Ha.Ha.

Do you think if you played with more sophisticated toys, you would be a doctor right now?

      • DPH

Hey man, F-you, nurses do all the real work anyway.

        • Billy Blunts

i dont see a nurse doing surgery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so no not even half they are the bitch of the doctor

          • Jacob

I don't see doctors doing surgery either. I do, however, see surgeons doing surgery.

      • Mrs_Conejo

What kind of toys did you play with?

    • xxx

      hellooooooo nurse!!

      • superpooper

Nostalgic quote in a a nostalgic thread! Good work!

    • The Pict

      Mmmmmm, nurse's uniform. Yummy

    • John Mc

This was the first pic that snapped me into this post. Totally remember this with the cast and the massive neddle. Great post chive

    • okcodeyoda

Still miffed that Dad took my doctor set away…sure, studying to be a gynecologist at 8 probably wasn't the intent, but I could have been an amazing doctor!!

  • John Smith

Dammmm ! That was on point thanks for the trip!

  • Nacirema

One day The Chive will be a trip down memory lane.

    • Lowrent75

Won't everything be a trip down memory lane at some point?

      • Ha.Ha.

Relax, Plato. Too much philosophy to handle on a Friday morning.

        • Lowrent75

          Nice…Too much coffee

    • tralfaz

      You just blew my mind.

  • MonkeyMadness

#40 The ones I had didn't use the caps on the tip, it used the paper caps.

    • DaHue

I think this one is an either or… the paper caps go behind the spring on this one.

      • MonkeyMadness

        I think you're right.

        • Sam Bell

I think you merely overlooked the use of the nipple on your own toy. HA! Nipple.

What were we talking about again?

    • BentWrenches

      yeah,this looks like a modern retro-repro

  • Dan

#17 That show was awesome! Then it disappeared…

    • cppchriscpp

Time for mind blowing, then. There were actually 4 seasons made, and all can be found online with a little digging. (Or Netflix, apparently. This part is news to me.) It got a bit weird at the end, though.

In other news I loved that show too.

Today's was about the best one of these I've seen for myself. I remember virtually all of this, and had forgotten some of it too. Made the start of my day just a bit better.

    • Ryan

    • Coldzilla

If ya happen to have Teletoon Retro you can catch it there nightly. Went over to my sisters one day and my nephew was watching it. Got a whole new generation of fans!
