The Voynich Manuscript
The Voynich Manuscript is a hand-written and illustrated codex, with an unknown language and diagrams. Carbon dating of the vellum places the age of the manuscript to the 1400’s, but no one knows where it came from, prior to it’s discovery in 1912. The pages are covered in writing that still, as of 2014, no one’s been able to crack and is divided into sections pertaining to astronomy, biology, cosmology, herbs and pharmaceuticals, though some of the diagrams don’t match sources in nature. As well, there are 240 pages missing and whether or not those pages would lend themselves to a clue as to the history of the book, no one knows.
