Comedy great Jerry Lewis died yesterday at the age of 91. His brand of slapstick comedy launched him to dazzling success in film, theater, music, and television. He was perhaps best known for working alongside Dean Martin as part of the hit comedy duo Martin and Lewis.
But for all of his career success, Lewis was proudest of what he gave back. He founded and hosted The Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon from 1966 until 2010, raising over $2.45 billion for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
