I’m on a Southwest flight headed west right now and for the past 30 minutes there’s been no internet on the plane. I’m good with it, because I think getting WI-FI at 30,000 ft. is a miracle, but the flight attendants are not. They all want to know what the tally on the Audrina campaign is, and so do the rows behind me frankly.
I asked them if they’d turned the plane off and then back on again? (Totally got the not-funny stare) But they got WI-FI working and I hit refresh… holy shit, we’re within striking distance of tripling the goal. $7,000 dollars and this monster hits $150,000.
I like to think I have a special relationship with the late-night, Chivers. You tolerate me getting into the Bourbon late at night and posting nonsense, it’s part of the charm of theCHIVE I think. I get it, I have issues.
One issue that’s not in doubt is that we’re in the process of changing one girl’s life forever, spectacularly so, and now it’s time to put the ball in the upper deck. There’s no other online community in the world capable of these kinds of charity gymnastics.
Beyond the Audrina’s home lays a lifetime of medical bills. Every dollar will help ease her pain. If you haven’t yet read Audrina’s story, it’s right here.
I’m breaking out my credit card one more time, and the row behind me has agreed to do the same. Thanks for all of this, Chivers. You made a statement with this one, you’re one of a kind, a real class act.
Donate to Audrina RIGHT HERE.

John
UPDATE: I step off the plane 20 mins later and the campaign jumped… $15,000???!!! It’s like you skipped the $150,000 mark all together in a few minutes and went straight for $160,000. I got a text from Brian Mercedes at Chive Charities, who has clearly not checked theCHIVE, “What just happened?!!”
My late-night Chivers happened. Jesus, you guys don’t mess around.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. My late night Chivers. I always loved you guys.
UPDATE #2: $170,000??? I was not expecting this. The late-night Chivers weighed in with vigor. Holy shit.
UPDATE #3: $180,000!!!!
