Here at theCHIVE, we’re huge supporters of the arts. It was 3 years ago in February when a broke student from Laguna College of Art and Design sent me a painting he’d finished. It was a classic scene from Dumb and Dumber, Go West Lloyd.
I thought the piece deserved recognition and posted it on theCHIVE. The scene quickly went viral and Madison didn’t have to eat Ramen noodles anymore. He’s since become one of the preeminent painters of pop art in America.
Madison called me a few months ago and said he was coming to Austin to paint a whole fleet of new pieces. When he was finished, he wanted to host his very first U.S. Debut Art Show, “The Classics.” With proceeds from the event to benefit Chive Charities. Madison finished his last few pieces last week – many are on display in the gallery below – and they’re amazing.
Tomorrow, for one night only, everybody is going to have a chance to see all of Madison’s artwork, all in one place. It’s all happening at TenOak Bourbon House on Colorado St. in Austin from 7:00 – 11:00pm. Madison’s new art as well as all of his original pieces from theCHIVE’s private collection, including the original Go West Lloyd and Bill Fucking Murray, will be on display.
The show is free and you don’t have to be an art snob to come and appreciate his talent. There will be prints available if you like but it’s a nice bourbon bar that serves bourbon and we’ll all be there, you know, bourboning. So don’t worry about this becoming some haute couture affair for assholes. Come as you are.

After Lo made her first appearance in our huge Summer Kickoff Gallery, y’all asked for MOAR. Lo was happy to oblige. We had this idea to put her in this elegant black dress for the gallery. Lo thought that was boring as shit had an idea to remove one piece of clothing with every new painting. Yes, she’s that awesome.
