theCHIVE is coming home. All theCHIVE founders hail from Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Leo, Bob, Emily, and Megan all attended Indiana University.
Every year before IU’s famous Little 500, theCHIVE rolls into Bloomington for Chive 5. It’s the only event each year that we don’t make tickets available for. Instead we just open the doors of Kilroy’s on Kirkwood and throw a party you can probably see from space.
This Friday, April 11th at 8pm the floodgates open at KOK. This is first-come-first serve and we recommend getting there a little bit early, not only because the event is not ticketed but also because:
The first 200 Chivers through the door will receive the coveted IU KCCO – please do not sell these on Ebay, you’ll wish you hadn’t when IU plays for the National Championship next year… in football. Thanks to Captain Morgan, the first 700 Chivers through the door will receive 3 free drink tickets (which is actually pretty awesome) for the night.
We will continue the tradition we started long ago – After 11pm I’ll throw down my personal credit card and pay for as many pitchers of beer and KCCO Blacks as I can until my credit card gets shut down. We made it to 400 pitchers two years ago.
Also, we will arrive a day early and we always try our best to make the rounds to parties across campus Thursday. Feel free to email us and we’ll do our best.
Yes, Mac has been banned from the state of Indiana but I’m sure he’s going to swim the Ohio river and make an appearance anyway despite the obvious risks.
We look forward to Chive 5 every year and we can’t wait to raise a glass with all our Hoosier Chivers on our old stomping ground. See you soon!
* Must be 21 to attend
