In different states theres different colored tanks to label what the gases are so I'm not sure if you're right or wrong. Point is sometimes you're in a hurry and aren't aware of you're surroundings.

oxygen comes in a few diff types of tanks…..by law they have to be painted green unless they are for medical use ( then they are stainless ) …..acetylene only comes in 3 types of tanks due to the fact the tanks have a special core in them to allow them to get past a certain psi in the tank to stabileyes the acetylene ….. therefore making the tanks a "shielding gas" …..shielding gas = non flammable

acetylene is highly flammable and explosive

I'd just be worried about the chips and sparks damaging the hoses. Pretty sure spark aren't gonna ignite the tank.

#18 Isn't as dangerous as people think, lighting it is dangerous, but i've seen a lit cigarette thrown in a bucket of gas and it just goes out, apparently, you need a flame or spark to ignite most gases. True story.

Since it is a gas line he is dealing with we are not talking liquid we are talking natuaral gas, so that just ups the chances of ignition, and since every time he takes a drag off of that cigarette he is creating flame I would just as well not be around his dumbass when he lights himself up. Might as well say that riding a motorcycle without a helmet is not dangerous as long as you stay on the bike, sounds logical until that 1 in 100,000 chance that you wipeout happens, why tempt fate?

they squeeze off the gas line so it doesn't flow while fusing and purge the line so there isn't actually gas in the area. not like i work with the shit or anything
